Saint Peter’s “Pro-Life Ministry” is dedicated to promoting the Gospel of Life -- from conception to natural death. With fidelity to the Catholic Church, we strive to live out Christ’s call to reach out to those least cared for by society because each human life has an inviolable dignity that originates from God.
Our ministry serves to:
Support local pro-life organizations
Faithfully present and increase understanding of Catholic teachings on the sanctity of life
Work with the diocese in implementing pro-life activities
Visit nursing homes
Pray at the abortion clinic
Pray for those on death-row
Participate in liturgical activities (Adoration, Morning prayer, Daily Mass, etc.) to nourish our witness
Quotes to Live By:
“He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there shall be no more death or mourning, wailing or pain, for the old order has passed away…” -Revelation 21:3-4
"The promotion of the culture of life should be the highest priority in our societies...If the right to life is not defended decisively as a condition for all other rights of the person, all other references to human rights remain deceitful and illusory."
-Pope John Paul II
"Human life is sacred because from its beginning it involves the creative action of God and it remains for ever in a special relationship with the Creator, who is its sole end. God alone is the Lord of life from its beginning until its end: no one can under any circumstance claim for himself the right directly to destroy an innocent human being."
–Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2258
“There are two ways, one of life and one of death; but a great difference between the two ways.” –The Didache (one of the earliest texts of the Apostolic Fathers), c. 100 AD
“God’s love does not distinguish between the infant in the mother’s womb or the child or the youth or the adult or the older person. In each one God sees His image and likeness. Human life is a manifestation of God and His glory.”
-Pope Benedict XVI
”And if we can accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love... And we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts...”
-Blessed Teresa of Calcutta
