Congratulations on your engagement! We look forward to accompanying you during the
formative period of preparation for the great gift of marriage. The Sacrament of Holy
Matrimony is a visible sign of God’s love for the church and is a lasting commitment of a man
and a woman to a lifelong partnership based on love and faith. In this sacrament, the man and the
woman administer the sacrament to each other as the priest or deacon stands as a witness on
behalf of the church.

Please note the following about Marriage Preparation at St. Peter:
1) Couples are asked to contact the Rector at least nine months before setting a wedding date.
2) Because St. Peter is a student center, there is a high demand for marriage preparation. As such, St. Peter is not able to accommodate the preparation of couples who are not regular members of the St. Peter community.
3) If you plan to do marriage preparation at St. Peter, please find the Marriage Preparation Program Outline here. Couples must attend all six sessions if they are getting married at St. Peter, and the first five sessions if they are getting married elsewhere.

Please note that Sessions Two, Three, and Four are group sessions. Sessions Two, Three, and Four will be offered once in the fall and once in the spring. The sessions do not have to be taken in order. Make up sessions are offered only at the discretion of the Rector.
