St. Peter Catholic Student Center works with local charitable organizations to give back to the Waco community. If you are a student interested in service (or a local organization interested in getting connected) please contact Katie Groves ([email protected]).
All students interested in serving with any organization are strongly encouraged to get VIRTUS trained and are required to comply with all organization requirements. Some opportunities require VIRTUS training. Information regarding VIRTUS training is available periodically in our weekly email. You can learn more about VIRTUS and find other training opportunities through the Diocese of Austin website, or at https://austindiocese.org/eim-compliance-status.

The local Society of St. Vincent de Paul works out of St. Jerome, located about 15 minutes away. The SSVdP performs a variety of charitable works, including Meals on Wheels and home visits to neighbors in need.Anyone interested in working with St. Vincent de Paul should contact Katie and she will put you in touch.

"Caritas of Waco has served families in the local community for over 53 years. We are committed to fighting poverty and food insecurity by providing access to vital resources to those who are most vulnerable. Caritas of Waco emergency service programs provide an immediate assistance, that leads to a greater holistic approach. The ultimate goal is to help clients move from a state of dependency on assistance, to a greater level of self-reliance by providing access to the education, tools and resources needed to be stable long-term."
Volunteer at Caritas with other members of the St. Peter community on Tuesdays from 1-3 PM (SPRING 2023 -- come back in the Fall for most up to date info). Contact Katie Groves for more information.

In preperation for the feasts of All Saints and All Souls, the St. Peter Community helped clean up a local Catholic cemetary in Fall of 2022. Take a look!
